A Moment in Nature
It’s where I find my solace
As a nature fan, I adore spending time in nature. Nature is where I find my respite — a solace from stressful daily life.
My favorite season is spring, but I find it fascinating how nature displays its charm in summer.
I come out on the deck to soak up the sun. My skin feels warm to the touch as the gentle rays of sunshine caress my skin. Silence envelopes my senses as I take the time to sit and observe.
Summer is when many tiny creatures come to life and invade their happy place — a grassy land. I see beetles hopping on the grass, humming bees are buzzing through the air, dragonflies are hovering around, and colorful butterflies perching on flower heads collecting their nectar. I look down on the grass and see swarming ants, busy making their tunnels through the ground.
I fix my gaze at a Monarch butterfly. She is fluttering her wings around my zinnia flowers, looking for sweet nectar. She is full of life and boisterous.
That’s where the joy of life is. It’s when you take your time and observe the nature all around you. When you bond with nature like baby bonds with their mother.
I pause for a moment to observe. And for a second, I wish I could be that butterfly. I want to spread my wings, release my worries, and fly away. But alas, I have no wings to fly.
But, for a moment, I am one with nature, and my mind is at peace.
