Recently, there have been many platforms that popped up offering ample opportunities for writers from all walks of life to monetize their work.

The writing industry isn’t expected to die any time soon — in fact, it’s expected to explode. So if you’re thinking of going into content creation, there has never been a better time than now.

As of now, Medium and Vocal are two of the best platforms on which writers can write and earn money from their work.

Every platform has upsides and downsides. In this article, I’ll compare two platforms, Medium and Vocal, based on what I know.

Let’s dive into it.

Comparison of Medium and Vocal

Unlike Vocal, Medium is relational and interactional. Both readers and writers can leave comments on each other’s articles. On the other hand, on Vocal, you’re only limited to claps in the form of hearts. Medium seems to be much more ahead of Vocal in the social media department.

Membership on Vocal is $10 a month, whereas on Medium it’s $5 a month. With Vocal+, you can enter many Writing challenges. Medium doesn’t sponsor and run writing challenges as often as Vocal does. For example, Vocal is currently hosting one of the biggest challenges…
