I Spent the Whole Day on Self-care

And it was all worth it

As a writer, I understand the importance of self-care. Rest is essential for both inspiration and creativity.

Along the way, I’ve learned how crucial it is to rest more on the weekend and unload my brain. If you’re too stressed and ignore your body, it can hamper your productivity.

Here is the thing: While writing is an enjoyable activity, it also drains your creative battery. And the only way to replenish it is with a sufficient amount of rest.

Many people feel guilty for taking a break when they need to, but rest is essential to the overall work-life balance.

Self-care is not a luxury — it’s a necessity, especially for creative professionals.

So recently I’ve started prioritizing my self-care more and I’ve noticed a tremendous improvement in both my productivity and writing output. I particularly like to catch up with my rest on Sundays. So today was my golden opportunity.

Today, I’ve gotten more sleep than I usually get during the week. I let my brain rest for the most part.

I also pampered myself with an Epsom salt bath, colored my hair, and treated myself to a homemade facial. And let me tell you, I feel like I’ve breathed another life.
